Growing Together: Primary School Programmes

Igniting Confidence, Leadership & Success—Launching Youth into a Limitless Future.

Powergirls Programme

The Powergirls program empowers young girls aged 9 to 16 by providing them with essential knowledge and skills to make informed lifelong decisions about their future. Held on Saturdays, the sessions are designed to be both educational and enjoyable, aiming to instill a sense of value and confidence in the participants.

Through these activities, the girls are encouraged to learn important life lessons, grow into wiser individuals, and envision brighter futures.

Currently, LETCEE operates four Powergirls sites located in Greytown, Njengabantu,Eshane, and Sangweni communities, with a total of 192 registered participants. Each site accommodates 48 Powergirls, divided into two age groups: the Naledi group for girls aged 9-12 and the Langa group for those aged 13-16. The program's popularity continues to grow as both the participants, and their caregivers witness positive transformations in the girls' lives.

As the program evolves, we look forward to expanding its reach and observing the lasting impact it has on the girls, their families, and their communities. In the spirit of one of the program's slogans, "Phambili!"—which means, "Despite life's challenges, we remain optimistic and press forward"—the Powergirls program remains a beacon of hope and empowerment.

Boys Programme

This program is designed to empower young boys from underserved communities by equipping them with the tools and knowledge to make better life choices, despite the often difficult circumstances in which they are growing up. Many boys face significant challenges stemming from the lack of positive male role models within their families and communities.

To address this, the program identifies facilitators who exemplify commendable values and behaviors, serving as role models in the boys' local environments. The goal is to demonstrate that making positive life choices is not only possible but can also lead to a brighter future.

Qualified facilitators, supported by experienced coordinators, implement grade-appropriate activities designed to help learners progress. Unlike traditional classroom settings, this initiative creates a vibrant, engaging environment filled with fun, colorful, and educational activities and resources.
