Nomcebo was born with Cerebral Palsy. She can not walk and needs to be supported to sit upright. Sbu our project manager for Play-able has been working with her and her family for more than 2 years now. In the beginning, Nomcebo was isolated, often alone in a room at home as the caregivers did not know what to do with her.
Sbu and the Rehab Team of Greytown Hospital changed her life by integrating her into the playgroups of our toy library in the Mbuba area, giving her physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and educating the grandmother on how to stimulate and play with Nomcebo.
On the 23rd of December 2020, Nomcebo received a brand new wheelchair. This special buggy is a valuable seating device to enable Nomcebo to sit upright in a supported position and experience the world out of a new perspective. We want to thank the Greytown Hospital Rehab team for your help and support.
